Bird Watching: Female cardinal braves the storm

London Ontario will be covered in two feet of snow by suppertime today, if not by mid-afternoon, the way things are going.

Snow is falling in XL buckets.

["The bird feeder sported a tall snow cap this morning"]

In spite of the conditions, a pair of cardinals visited my feeder this morning.

The female didn’t mind me snapping her picture through a backdoor window but the male was a bit more cautious, flew away when he spotted me and continues to hide in our snow-covered blue spruce.

Perhaps he’ll make an appearance later in the day.

What birds are visiting your feeder?
