The Big Wait is Over!

"One new leaf!"

Before going away for the weekend I filled the glass tumbler up to the very top so the avocado pit - resting securely in H2O with the help of two pins - would not run dry. This morning I checked on its health and... there was a surprise.

It did not run dry. It is doing better than ever. One new leaf is beginning to sprout.

I snipped the first leaves off the stem on Nov. 20, and the one-month wait for new life seemed longer. Maybe leaf number two won't take so long! But we shall see what we shall see. This is Canada, after all.
