Letter to the Editor: ‘PM’s actions deplorable’ (Hear, hear!)

Kenneth C. doesn’t like prorogation (I feel the same but different) and he’s letting us know about it in a letter published in yesterday’s London Free Press.

(Click here for more information re prorogation)

Among other things he says:

(My own brilliant comments appear in brackets)

Over the last two years, we have seen him and his cronies firing regulators for doing their job,

(Harper wants small government so he can afford the largest and most expensive Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) in recent memory)

smearing diplomats for telling the truth,

(just not the right truth)

violating his own electoral laws,

(but it was his law, after all)

and simply defying and shutting down parliament repeatedly when it’s inconvenient for him.

(‘repeatedly’ should be used after he prorogues Parliament for the third time, not this time)

These shenanigans

(I love that word)

are the work of a would-be dictator,

(Harper loves that style of leadership; he’s earned the title, eh)

not a Canadian Prime Minister we should respect.

(Hear, hear!)

Today’s column in The Londoner is based on a discussion I had with London Liberal Glen Pearson about the proroguing of Canadian Parliament.
