It Strikes Me Funny: Never leave home without Plan B

Last Thursday, after Carlisle entered the van I did too and three of us, including Gary as driver, headed toward Saugeen Bluffs for a short kayaking and camping adventure.

(There's more to this story too.)

A forecast for heavy rain caused us to defer to Plan B and make a detour toward a hunt camp that included a comfortable cabin with a rain-tight roof.

Good thing. It rained for about six hours straight.

On Friday morning, a nearby pond - even the air above it - appeared crystal clear. A wee songbird sang his heart out for us.

Although we saw lots of water the kayaks stayed on the roof racks.

We’ll give camping and kayaking another try in August.

Did last week’s rain hamper your plans or help you make new ones?
