Bird Watching: An old couple of mourning doves

This pair of birds reside in a blue spruce tree outside my back window.

They remind me of my wife and I while watching Coronation Street every weeknight.

During a commercial break one of us will say,


“Would you like tea or coffee?”


“Yeah, that sounds great,” the other will reply. [photos GH]


“Then, you’ve got 60 seconds to run to the kitchen and plug in the kettle.”

That’s how it works after 40 years of wedded bliss.
